PPC Specialist

As a PPC Specialist, you will strategize, implement and monitor effective pay-per-click (PPC) campaigns for both B2C and B2B businesses with guidance from a senior member of our Paid Search Team to ensure we are exceeding the goals and expectations of every client. The ideal team member will have the passion and drive to analyze data and develop solutions to improve campaign results. You are detail-oriented and data-driven.   You don’t need any previous pay-per-click experience to apply for this position—just an interest in digital marketing and a drive to learn! 

Responsibilities

  • Create, manage and optimize paid search campaigns for clients across a variety of industries on Google, Bing, and other ad networks
  • Analyze the performance of PPC campaigns and adjust strategies accordingly
  • Improve PPC ad delivery and account performance by optimizing for quality score and using conversion tracking, negative keywords, geo-targeting, etc.
  • Monitor campaign results and optimize click-through and conversation rates
  • Monitor budget and adjust bids to gain better ROI
  • Perform ongoing keyword research and create and refine lists of targeted search terms 
  • Analyze landing pages and document changes required for campaign performance
  • Proactively adjust PPC campaigns to ensure performance goals are met
  • Track, report, and provide analysis on all performance metrics for paid marketing campaigns, this includes internal and external/competitor strategy analysis
  • Effectively communicate campaign performance to internal team members and clients, as needed
  • Provide actionable insights and analysis of paid search performance
  • Manage campaign expenses by staying within defined budget, monthly budget pacing, estimating monthly costs, and reconciliation
  • Complete PPC account audits as well as search engine ranking benchmarks and reports
  • Support Copywriters and Account Managers on all PPC issues
  • Keep up to date with PPC best practices, keyword research tools and industry research

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field of study (marketing, business, communications, etc.)
  • Ability to perform research, analyze websites, document changes, and make decisions regarding optimization approach
  • Excellent attention to detail 
  • Strong internal and external communication skills
  • A desire to think strategically, proactively and creatively, focusing on innovative and measurable solutions
  • Strong work ethic and a "do whatever it takes to get the job done" attitude to deliver results in a fast-paced environment
  • Exemplary organization and time management skills with the ability to handle several projects simultaneously 
  • Ability to work with Microsoft Excel
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment
  • Ability to remain current on all search engine marketing strategies, best practices and trends
  • Ability to work from either the Charlotte, NC office or Gaithersburg, MD office daily

Preferred Skills

  • 1 – 2 years PPC management experience
  • Google Ads (AdWords) certification
  • Experience with Google Analytics
  • Agency experience
  • Digital marketing experience
  • Experience with CRO or A/B split testing
